Last year’s Run for a Life was another successful and enjoyable day! A big THANK YOU to everyone who supported us in 2018 and we hope to see you at this year’s event in on May 25th!

Welcome to the website for our annual Run For a Life.  This is the eleventh year of the event and we are delighted to be back in Corkagh Park again! The event has developed a loyal following over the years and it has become a strong platform for the promotion of organ donor awareness and raising funds for the Irish Kidney Association as well as a great day out for all the family.

The parkland nature of the measured 2.5km circuit we use will make it very picturesque and should make for a good experience for runners, joggers and walkers alike. Hopefully we can have good weather this year!

As a result of ongoing feedback, we will again be offering a choice of 2.5km, 5km or 10km events. A combination of an accurately measured course and chip timing will mean that it will be a good event for regular runners to record a good time over the popular distances of 5km and 10km. Having the 2.5km options makes the day accessible to all ages and abilities thus making it very family friendly.

As in past years, our renowned soup and sandwiches will of course be available to all finishers!

I look forward to seeing you on the day.

Mark Murphy
Chief Executive
Irish Kidney Association

Look forward to walking the 5km with my granchildren who love participating in charity walks for great causes. We live right beside the park and look forward to supporting this very worthy cause whilst raising awareness about the importance of organ donation
    Best of luck

Hey, is there any sponser cards or anything to raise money also?

  3. Sharon says:

Hi I am trying to register my 1 year old son but the Date of birth list doesn’t have 2017- is he allowed to do it?

    • Hi Sharon. He is welcome. I am guessing that you will be using a buggy? We normally ask that if people are walking with buggies that they start near the back – it’s a safety thing until the mass start opens up and everyone finds their pace/rhythm. Colin (

  4. David B says:

Will the 10k and the 5k be starting at the same time?

  5. Sinead Murphy says:

Hi, just wondering when collection of race numbers is and where to go to do so.

    • Hi Sinead. Number collection will be available at the race venue in Corkagh Park (use St. John’s Grove entrance) from 10am. We will have tents set up within view of the car park so you won’t miss us.

  6. Lisa says:

Is it possible to just walk the 5k? I’m assuming it’s not possible to walk the 10k.

    • Hi Lisa. There is no problem walking the 5km. Going on previous years our final finishers usually cross the line approx. 1 hour 45 mins after the start so if you want to consider the 10km within that time frame you are welcome. Colin.

  7. Yvonne Rossiter says:

Hi Mark, just wondering can you register on the day?

Hi do you have a picture of the route? If you are doing the 10k is the 2.5k circuit lapped 4 times?

  11. Sinead says:

I registered myself and my mam, unfortunately she has lost the registration email, is there anyway she can still run without the barcode tomorrow.

    • Hi Sinead,

If your Mam’s name is Jane she is in the system and she just needs to give her name at registration and she will get her number and everything else that goes with being a participant in the event.
      See you tomorrow.
      Colin. (Event organiser)
